Google Earth On Another Height
When we think about Google Earth, we automatically know it as an application software that displays virtual images of the earth, including countries, landmarks, tourists destinations and so much more. Google Earth is definitely a much better version of the old and tattered maps and globes as it lets us explore with far less limitations.
However, we cannot just be contented with viewing the earth alone. It would be a great experience if we can use Google Earth’s magnifying power to see things far imaginable. Thanks to Google and some modifications, the viewing experience is set to another height literally and figuratively with the addition of Google Sky.
Google sky is released on August 2007 as the sky viewer version. It provides virtual image of the sky and outer space made possible by the efforts of the Hubble Telescope.
Google Sky, with its great imaging and resolution capacity, presents a good view of the stars, constellations, planets and other entities. Aside from the spectacular display, Google Sky also offers important information about the subject by simply highlighting the desired celestial body. Additional information can also be retrieved from NASA’s database.
Aside from providing information Google Sky also provides virtual tours and visual applications. These are: Life of a Star tour – shows the life cycle of a star. User’s guide to the galaxy – trip to the sights and sounds of the galaxy. Moon in motion – displays moon’s motion path at a certain variable time duration which users can specify. Planets in motion – shows planetary paths at certain variable time duration which users can also specify.
The possibilities are endless. Man can touch the universe through Google Sky. Goodbye expensive and bulky telescopes. Hello to the amazing and cheap application software which everybody can enjoy.
